Mr. Mark A. Hensler is a euphoniumist, conductor, and adjudicator. He is in his 31st year as a music educator in the Northwest Local Schools (Cincinnati, OH). He has been band director at Northwest High School (1984-1994) and Pleasant Run Middle School (1984-Present). The Pleasant Run MS Bands have consistently earned Superior ratings at the Ohio Music Education Association (OMEA) Adjudicated Events for the last 19 years. In 2014, the PRMS Band was selected to perform at the OMEA State Professional Development Conference (PDC) held in Columbus, OH. In 2006, Mr. Hensler was named "Educator of the Year" by the PTA for Pleasant Run Middle School, Northwest Local Schools and Hamilton County, OH. He appears frequently as featured soloist with high school and community bands in the Greater Cincinnati Area.
Mr. Hensler is also very active in the Ohio Music Education Association, having served as a district and state officer as well as co-chairing the 2002, 2011 and 2015 state conference. He is a Past State President and the newly appointed Director of Professional Development. He received his bachelor of music education degree from Morehead State University, KY, where he studied euphonium with Dr. Earle L. Louder. In 1994 he earned an MBA from Miami University, Oxford, OH. He resides in Fairfield Township, OH with his wife Jenni and their three children. He has been director of the Ohio Military Band since 1995.
